For faculty and staff members* who will receive a new employee ID number (changed from their current personal numbers) after April 2025

After April 2025, due to status changes or other reasons, you will be assigned a new employee ID number and your current personal number will be changed.
Faculty and staff members will be assigned a new Science Tokyo ID.
You will no longer be able to access the services that you are currently accessing with your Science Tokyo ID. Thus, please backup all necessary information while you still can log in.
Please note that you will not be able to access the services with your new Science Tokyo ID until April 16, 2025.
Moreover, you will be able to access the services with your old Science Tokyo ID until April 16, 2025. For information on data transfer for each service, please refer Details.

* Faculty and staff whose employee number changes due to a status change of employment, and whose registration in the Trusted DB have changed from the Academic Records Management System to the Personnel and Payroll System. ( Please refer to the March 13th notices

For the Science Tokyo ID distribution to the faculty and staff who will be on board on April 1

The Science Tokyo IDs will be distributed to the newly hired/appointed faculty members and staff after April 7, 2025. The services such as Slack, Box and Gmail will not be available until the Science Tokyo IDs are distributed and completely configured.
Therefore, during the period, please use the available communication tools based on the old authentication system for the notifications and employment procedures.

Information Infrastructure Usage Guidelines

The use of the information infrastructure and services of National University Corporation Institute of Science Tokyo must not include any acts that violate applicable laws or regulations, or that are contrary to public order and morals. Furthermore, the following actions are prohibited unless approved according to the relevant regulations:

  1. Using the Institute’s information infrastructure and services for commercial or religious activities
  2. Sharing login or authentication information (login ID, password, matrix, etc.) with third parties
  3. Connecting devices with security issues (such as unsupported operating systems, lack of virus protection, or outdated software) to the Institute’s information infrastructure
  4. Any actions that impede the efficient operation of information systems within or outside the Institute, such as those that impose an excessive load
  5. Any actions that infringe on the confidentiality of communications, including potential acts
  6. Using peer-to-peer (P2P) software or other equivalent communication software
  7. Infringing copyrights, including the unauthorized use of software
  8. Acts that constitute discrimination, defamation, insult, or harassment (including potential acts)

Science Tokyo Dealing with Communication Records

Keep the following communication records to maintain the security and also to cope with the possible troubles caused in and outside of campus.

  1. Access dates
  2. Connection user name (computer log-in ID)
  3. IP address or MAC address
  4. Web access records (URL)
  5. Information required in our security facilities

Agreements on Information and Communication Infrastructure

On the use of Tokyo Tech Information infrastrucrure, I will obey "the Tokyo Tech Information Ethics Policy & the Tokyo Tech Security Policy" given in Guidelines for Information Ethics and Security, the Guideline for the Tokyo Tech Information Infrastructure Use and Dealing with Communication Records.
