Changing Operation of and Renaming Inquiry Channel for Science Tokyo Auth. System

We will start a new inquiry channel for Science Tokyo Auth. System on May 14. There used to be two inquiry channels on Slack such as "#help-portal" for staff/faculty and "#help-portal-students" for student. This time, we will integrate those channels as "#help-sciencetokyo認証システム-情報基盤課".

The maintenance of Science Tokyo Box (hereinafter referred to as “Box”) has been completed since Friday, April 25, 2025.

Impact and corresponding towards invalidation processing of Science Tokyo ID (Correct/Revise)

Since it started issuing Science Tokyo ID in August 2024, we had temporarily suspended the revocation of Science Tokyo ID for those who have already left the college (graduated, retired, etc.) in order to minimize the impact on users. However, in order to normalize the operations, a batch ID revocation process was carried out on April 21, 2025. Accordingly, the Science Tokyo ID for those who left the college due to retirement, graduation, completion, etc. by March 31, 2025 (including those have the old ID due to status changed) has been already invalidated.
From now on, the Science Tokyo ID will be revoked immediately after the date of withdrawal (graduation date, retirement date, etc.). Please see the details page for detailed conditions.

About ScienceTokyo email address
(Supplement: saas email address)

The “@m.isct.ac.jp” e-mail address is assigned as the email address of the College.
Currently, the “@saas.isct.ac.jp” address is also provided by the College but mainly used as a system ID.

The "@saas.isct.ac.jp" address is used as an ID in some systems linked to the Science Tokyo Authentication System in terms of "security reasons".
Some systems using the “@saas.isct.ac.jp” address would send emails and please take the following actions.

  • The "@saas.isct.ac.jp" email address is created for use by system ID only and Science Tokyo Gmail will automatically received emails from the systems.
    You do not need to do any setup procedures by yourself.
  • You may receive notifications sent by the systems using the “@saas.isct.ac.jp” address.
    Please do not sort those emails as spam since it is not a junk mail.
  • The "@saas.isct.ac.jp" email address is created for use by system ID ONLY.
    Please do not use the address as your personal email address to "receive or send emails".
  • Currently, the system using the "saas email address" is "Science Tokyo LMS" only.

Information Infrastructure Usage Guidelines

The use of the information infrastructure and services of National University Corporation Institute of Science Tokyo must not include any acts that violate applicable laws or regulations, or that are contrary to public order and morals. Furthermore, the following actions are prohibited unless approved according to the relevant regulations:

  1. Using the Institute’s information infrastructure and services for commercial or religious activities
  2. Sharing login or authentication information (login ID, password, matrix, etc.) with third parties
  3. Connecting devices with security issues (such as unsupported operating systems, lack of virus protection, or outdated software) to the Institute’s information infrastructure
  4. Any actions that impede the efficient operation of information systems within or outside the Institute, such as those that impose an excessive load
  5. Any actions that infringe on the confidentiality of communications, including potential acts
  6. Using peer-to-peer (P2P) software or other equivalent communication software
  7. Infringing copyrights, including the unauthorized use of software
  8. Acts that constitute discrimination, defamation, insult, or harassment (including potential acts)

Science Tokyo Dealing with Communication Records

Keep the following communication records to maintain the security and also to cope with the possible troubles caused in and outside of campus.

  1. Access dates
  2. Connection user name (computer log-in ID)
  3. IP address or MAC address
  4. Web access records (URL)
  5. Information required in our security facilities

Agreements on Information and Communication Infrastructure

On the use of Tokyo Tech Information infrastrucrure, I will obey "the Tokyo Tech Information Ethics Policy & the Tokyo Tech Security Policy" given in Guidelines for Information Ethics and Security, the Guideline for the Tokyo Tech Information Infrastructure Use and Dealing with Communication Records.
